About Me
Medical Director, General Cardiology (South Region)
I am a pediatric cardiologist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital with more than 26 years of experience caring for children with heart conditions. My expertise spans treating critically ill cardiac patients, providing fetal cardiology care and offering general pediatric cardiology services. I evaluate and manage conditions such as heart murmurs, chest pain, syncope, and other cardiovascular concerns in infants, children and adolescents. Additionally, I provide evaluations for cardiology clearance related to stimulant medications for ADD/ADHD and for competitive sports participation.
Growing up in Puerto Rico, I was inspired by my father, a pediatrician, to pursue a career in medicine. I earned my medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and completed my residency there before moving to South Florida to specialize further with a fellowship in pediatric cardiology.
What I find most rewarding is working closely with children and their families to navigate their healthcare needs. I also enjoy collaborating with primary care physicians to ensure every child receives seamless, comprehensive care.
Every child deserves a healthy heart and a bright future, and I am honored to play a role in making that possible.
